Intervention - Senior managers in a major consultancy firm were coached on developing people management skills in order to increase staff retention.
Result - Staff retention increased by an average of 2 years saving £5 million off the bottom line (coaching was not wholly attributable for the saving but considered by the client to be a significant part of it); real understanding of the negative impact of some aspects of the coachee on others, positive feedback in the next performance review indicated changed work attitudes and behaviours.
